This year marks the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale's first printed work, the 'Cologne fragment', which translated the opening 22 chapters of Matthew's Gospel.
In 1525 the fragment was smuggled into England, giving people their first chance to read the Gospel in their own language.
The next year, in 1526, Tyndale had completed the full English translation of the New Testament in Antwerp.
